Almost all textile equestrian footing products are based on available residual materials or varying textile waste streams. ELITEX takes a different approach.

ELITEX-Fiber® is a fiber composition developed specifically for equestrian use, made from two carefully selected textile materials from the automotive industry. We use defined virgin material from industrial production, selected for its purity, durability, long service life and consistent quality.

Both material streams are carefully controlled, processed into defined cut sizes and deliberately combined. The result is a homogeneous, foam-free performance fiber with consistent properties – durable and 100% recyclable.

IS A TEXTILE EQUESTRIAN FOOTING TOO SOFT?

No, this is one of the most common misconceptions. What matters is not whether a textile footing is used, but which one. Material quality, fiber structure, footing depth and a professionally designed base all determine the result. When properly manufactured and installed, it provides stability, grip and elasticity without becoming too deep. That is why we at ELITEX place great emphasis on individual advice and a well thought out overall concept.

WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR IN A TEXTILE EQUESTRIAN FOOTING?

Not all textile equestrian footing is the same. Quality starts with the material. Material composition, purity and fiber structure influence shear strength, the balance between stability and elasticity, maintenance requirements, dust levels, durability and eventual disposal. That is why ELITEX relies on consistently pure, defined materials. The right base, the appropriate footing depth and expert advice are just as important. That is why we see the riding surface as a complete system, designed to provide consistently good riding conditions for many years.

WHAT ABOUT DISPOSAL AT THE END OF ITS SERVICE LIFE?

For us, sustainability doesn’t end with installation. It covers the entire lifecycle of the material. ELITEX consists exclusively of pure PP and PE textiles. Both materials are 100% recyclable. No hard plastic residues, no foam and no additives such as antifreeze. You also receive a Material Passport documenting exactly what is installed in your riding arena. Unlike mixed materials of unknown composition, you will still know what is there 15 years from now. This makes recycling and disposal significantly easier. Our goal: Today’s riding surface should not become tomorrow’s disposal problem.

CAN ELITEX-Fiber® ALSO BE USED IN AN INDOOR ARENA?

Yes, for both outdoor arenas and indoor arenas. In both cases, the key is a professionally prepared base: a stable, level foundation that allows moisture to drain properly and helps the footing maintain its properties. Since there is no rain indoors, we recommend lightly watering the ELITEX-Fiber® when needed. This keeps the fiber supple and helps maintain the footing’s riding characteristics. We tailor the optimal setup to each individual project, depending on the arena construction, existing base and intended use.

HOW DOES DELIVERY WORK AND HOW IS IT DELIVERED?

After a detailed consultation and receipt of your deposit, the required quantity will go into production. We do not use random leftover materials. Our fiber is 100% recyclable and specifically composed for use as equestrian footing. Delivery takes approximately 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the required quantity and your desired delivery timeframe. The fiber is delivered on pallets in Big Bags, with each Big Bag weighing approximately 700 to 800 kg. The delivery site must be accessible for the transport vehicle, and you will need to arrange for the Big Bags to be unloaded.

HOW DO I PAY?

CAN THE EXISTING SAND REMAIN IN PLACE?

This depends on the condition and construction of the existing riding surface. In many cases, it is possible. Important: Without a suitable separation layer, the sand and fiber can gradually mix over time. This can reduce the dust-free properties of the footing and, once mixed, the material is no longer recyclable. That is why we are developing our own sustainable ELITEX system solution: a water-permeable intermediate layer that permanently separates the sand and fiber. Its structured surface also provides additional grip and stability within the footing layer. Our goal: a well thought out complete system that combines performance, sustainability and durability.
